Do you ever have the distinct fear that the more people get to know you, the less they will like what they see? That the more you open yourself up, the more ridiculous you look? That the passion that you show looks like foolery?
Just wondering.

You speak my language. I sometimes feel that the people who love me most (ie: close girl friends, HUSBAND...) really think I'm a big douche.

And I also think that we're being insecure and letting some big un-truths find root. Let's not do that.
I think for me it's almost the opposite. I sometimes think people probably think I'm a douche right off the start, especially when it comes to my passions and probably find it weird that I am so passionate about things and so intense. But once they get to know me I like to think they begin to understand me more and why I am why I am. It's the people that "get me" that I feel the most comfortable with. They probably still think I'm a big douche but at least they get me LOL!
